What is "Bias Tape" or "Binding"?
Bias tape, also known as bias binding, is a narrow strip of fabric that has been cut on the bias, meaning it’s cut at a 45-degree angle to the fabric’s grain. Cutting fabric on the bias allows it to have more stretch and flexibility compared to cutting along the straight grain or crosswise grain.
Bias tape is commonly used in sewing and crafting for finishing raw edges, binding seams, and adding decorative touches to garments, quilts, and other fabric projects. It’s particularly useful for curved edges, as the bias cut allows the tape to stretch and conform smoothly to curves without puckering or bunching.
Bias tape can be made from various fabrics, including cotton, polyester, satin, silk, and more, depending on the desired look and function of the finished project. It’s available pre-made in a variety of widths and colors, or it can be made at home by cutting strips of fabric on the bias and folding and pressing them to create the desired width and finish.

We do not currently sell the cutting mat with the “Bias Tape Cutting Board”. The supply of these cutting mats are not in our control. So, we recommend that you get the cutting mat through Amazon.com.

What if I have fabric smaller than 17" by 17"?
In this case the fabric would be too small to fit around the “Bias Tape Cutting Board”. we then have to recommend using the “strips” method.
